With the growing need for electronics in day-to-day life, there is a necessity to address the Security concerns that it implies. Keeping this in view, the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) program was launched by the Government of India through the Ministry of Information Technology. IIT Madras is an active member of this program. Having understood the needs, IIT M has offered two MOOCs under the Information Security series in 2015 and 2016. These two courses are available to public for free viewing. The current course is the third in the series and will cover Server and Network administration for Information security engineers. Understanding these basic concepts is a must for an engineer to appreciate advanced concepts related to Information security.

UNIX Basic scripting, Setting environment variables and using them in command line, Basic looping syntaxes in shell script, Continuation of looping syntaxes in shell script, practicing sample shell scripts

Networking Basics, Networking Terminologies, Structure of Internet and packet delays: Introduction, Network devices, Network Administration in Linux
