Instructional design is one of the most dynamic fields of learning. Instructional design acts as a blueprint to help in understanding and applying the principles of instruction to improve learning. The MDE 412 course is aimed at developing knowledge and skills for designing instruction to make learning more effective. This course deals with learning theories and their educational implications. It provides an understanding of various models for instructional design which can be applied in different contexts. The course explains instructional design processes as well as practices for creating effective learning environments, which can be used in the face to face classroom, and for designing self learning materials for distance education.
